Our Artisans
The skills behind every piece.
Skill passed from hand to hand
Kashmiri craft depends on people: weavers and knotters who build a carpet row by row, embroiderers who work a pattern stitch by stitch, painters who decorate papier-mâché and carvers who shape walnut wood. These skills take years to develop, and they are what give each piece its character.
How we present the work
We aim to describe each product honestly: the material, the technique or style, the dimensions and the care it needs. Where a design follows a traditional approach, we say so.
Because every handcrafted piece can vary slightly in colour, pattern or size, small differences from the photographs are part of its nature.
